The ruins of Bohus Fortress are still standing after close to 700 years, proudly dominating the valley of Göta Älv. The colossal walls of brick and granite still give the visitors a good idea of its inpregnability in ancient times. At the fortess, which is the number one tourist attraction in Kungälv , we offer the following medieval events in english for groups and companies .
historical treasurehunt
A very popular
teambuilding activity which will test the groups ability to cooperate. The
group is devided in to teams with 5-6 persons in each. In the first part
the teams shall, with help from cryptical leads and a guide of
information, find twelve letters. Some of them easy to find, some of
them difficult. Once the letters are found, the task is to find out wich
word the letters forms together. This word will tell where the treasure
is. Since some of the leads are quite difficult it is possible to receive
extra help by performing a number of fysical tasks. For exampel count the
stairs in a high tower etc.

prison
of the priest
This activity is
based on the life of the priest Thomas Leopold. Leopold is the fortresses
most famous prisoner who was locked up for 37 years because of his
opinions about the church.
The group is devided in to teams who compets in the hunt of the golden key
of justice. In each part of the competition one of the teams will be
kicked out and put in to the dark humid prisoncells. The teams will
compete in tasks in keeping of the times, such as wrestling, shooting, tug
of war etc.

at the fortress
Join us at the
fortress when the dark has entered. A hair raising experience even for the
bravest of them all. Deep secrets are kept in here and anyone who enters
the fortress will experience something that guarantees that the blood will
start running through their vains. We will guide You through the
darkness and tell dreadful storys from bygone times. And we can promise
that the history of the fortress feels very real, and that none of You
will leave untouched...

the
battle of Bagahus
The ultimate
challenge for groups who wants to fight hard! We will take You 345 years
back in time to a troubled time when the borders often where relocated and
the days where impressed with fighting and fractions.
The year is 1658 and the lands of Bohus has become swedish through the peace in Roskilde.The norweigans are very angry about this and decides to once again attack the fortress to take back what they feel is their property.
The group is devided in to two teams, Sweden and Norway. The battle takes place over the whole fortress and begins at the castle courtyard. Both teams has their own headquarters (a tower). The task is to capture all opponents, conquer the dominion and the flag of the opponents.

Feel the wing-beat of
history when You compete in a medieval pentathlon. Stilts, wrestling, tug
of war, the cat in the barrel are examples of task You might face.

Notice! All these events reqires good health! The fortress is not adjusted to disabled persons. There is an elevator but once inside the fortress its very hilly and difficult to move around with a wheel chair.
